Technology is not always available. This is a blog of reflection versus introducing a new technology or cool tool that I found. I had to take my husband to the hospital on Sunday morning at 2am, it made for a long couple of days until he was released this afternoon. But it made me think, internet access was spotty at best when I was staying with him in his hospital room. This is something that as an online instructor I have to consider and be allowing for. Every term I get quit a few excuses and you never kow how many are accurate and how many are untruths to get a extension. But with that in mind it is necessary to allow for student emergencies and ways to adapt technology and assignments for students.
It seems like it is something that does not have an easy solution so it is a matter of trust until you get burned. But as those that embrace technology we need be able to be flexible for those that are without access at times.
